Steel

Pueblo’s steel mill is one of the most advanced railroad rail mills in the United States. It’s also one of its oldest, having been effectively in operation since the 1870’s. The Arkansas River flows through the heart of Pueblo, and just outside of town is Lake Pueblo State Park. The most visited state park in Colorado, known for its epic boating and fishing. History

Water drives Pueblo’s rich history. This region has been inhabited by indigenous people including the Pueblo, Southern Ute, Ute Mountain Ute, Jicarilla Apache, and others. The region’s bustling 1900s era led to phenomenal architecture still standing today. Just outside of Pueblo in the Wet Mountains, the first U.S. Forest Service recreational unit ever brought camping, hiking, and nature experiences to the common person.

Valor
